Convenor of Innovation & Capital Investment Week 2026 In partnership with Startup World Cup | Pegasus Tech Ventures | Youth Ambassadors Botswana 

The Startup World Cup Botswana Regional Information Session is an introductory engagement designed to inform entrepreneurs, innovators, and ecosystem stakeholders about the Startup World Cup Botswana Regional Competition and the opportunities it offers to high-potential startups. The session provides participants with an overview of the global Startup World Cup platform powered by Pegasus Tech Ventures, which connects startups from around the world to investors, venture capital networks, and international markets. 

During the session, participants will learn about the competition structure, eligibility criteria, application process, and judging framework for the Botswana regional competition. The information session will also highlight the pathway for the winning startup to represent Botswana at the global Startup World Cup Grand Finale in San Francisco, where startups compete for a potential USD 1 million investment prize. 

In addition, the session introduces the broader ecosystem support available to participating startups, including mentorship, investor readiness preparation, networking opportunities, and exposure to venture capital and corporate partners. It will also situate the competition within the larger Innovation & Capital Investment Week 2026, a national platform convened by Thrive Development Initiative (TDI) to accelerate innovation, entrepreneurship, and capital mobilisation in Botswana. 

The information session aims to encourage participation from startups across sectors, including technology, agriculture, health, digital solutions, climate innovation, and other scalable ventures. It also provides an opportunity for entrepreneurs, students, researchers, and ecosystem partners to ask questions, connect with organisers, and gain practical guidance on how to submit a competitive application. Ultimately, the session serves as a gateway for Botswana’s innovators to access global markets, investment opportunities, and international exposure, while strengthening the country’s emerging startup and innovation ecosystem.
